Phospholipid synthesis as a therapeutic target to promote brain repair in MS patient
Phospholipids are fats that are abundantly present in the brain and play an essential role in maintaining myelin integrity and brain function. Our preliminary findings indicate that failure of brain repair in MS patients is associated with perturbed formation of phospholipids. By using innovative techniques and models, we will in this project confirm perturbed phospholipid synthesis in brain lesions and unravel whether phospholipid metabolism can be therapeutically harnessed to promote brain repair in MS patients.
