Multiple sclerosis is an extremely complex disease. On the one hand, it involves a dysfunction of the immune system, which is itself very complex. This dysfunction then leads to damage to the central nervous system, which is also a very complex biological system. Fundamental research should therefore make every effort to identify and understand the cells that cause these dysfunctions.
The Belgian Charcot Foundation is funding 7 new projects that were led by university teams from across the country. They are all studying these famous cells.
